Just a couple of things:
- Well, if Verizon did what it was supposed to do, Brian’s FiOS line should have been upgraded to business class sometime between 8am-12pm. The first piece of fixing this should be complete then.
- Waiting to hear from Brian on if he has a tentative date for picking up the server from our ISP.
- I would like to thank all of you who maintained a good atmosphere on this blog. Please note that just because some people’s opinion doesn’t match your own, they are allowed to express it. We are all for free speech.
- However, a few days ago, I was forced to moderate three users on this blog due to their vulgar and combative posts. Their intent from post #1 was to cause trouble (one of them even thought it was funny to use the name of the dictator who ran Germany in WWII). They were given a chance and lost it. One of them, noticing that they had been moderated, tried to say he will report me. Go figure.
We are at two weeks now since the CSFBL went down. We have two major hurdles left to go: picking up the server and figuring out what went wrong with it. We will get there soon, I promise.
- Chris G.

thanks chris. I think my withdrawal symptons are starting to subside… post some stuff about the new game that most people don’t know about. Kind of dangle that “carrot”, so to speak, so we get rehooked.

That is a good idea tazdevil. I will send an e-mail to the devs and see if we can come up with some sneak peaks for you guys.
February 2, 2007 at 4:34 pm
Psot stuff about the new game? We really need to hear about the current game don’t we?
February 2, 2007 at 4:36 pm
I wouldn’t mind hearing about the new game……as soon as we get the *old game* working again.
February 2, 2007 at 4:56 pm
Me without CSFBL is like the Cookie Moster in rehab….
February 2, 2007 at 4:57 pm
The “old game” is perfectly fine with me when it’s working. But I’d be interested in seeing a trailer for the new game so to speak.

Haven’t been posting at all on this blog, but just want to say I’ve been following along and I appreciate the updates as often as you guys have been providing them.

Since myself, Realm, babarfloyd, and harborpirate can’t really do much until Brian has the server (we don’t live anywhere near NYC), we have plenty of time to talk about the new game.
Yes the old game is down, but we might as well make productive use of the time and benefit the new game as well!
Babarfloyd is getting together some stuff he would like to post. You will probably see it sometime in the next day or so.
February 2, 2007 at 5:04 pm
The amount of info about the new game is large enough that most folks have little to no idea what is to be and what is capable.
Since they are coding now for the new game, this is the better time to chime in on things that will be thought of or included.
Anyways, that’s my take on it, couldn’t hurt to discuss

Hey just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone and just let my fellow league members know that I will be here when the site comes back. Wish we did that live draft in the LoL league we have plenty of time to draft people right now. I actually printed all the rosters and ratings and salaries and stuff so I could have scanned them in for everyone to use to select players and so forth
February 2, 2007 at 5:23 pm
Patiently waiting for the return of CSFBL! The game is so good, it is perfectly justifiable to charge some fees. I like the idea of purchasing upgrades and trade credits.
Make sure you e-mail me so I don’t miss the kick off of the renewed system…show me where to sign and I will pay for this game!
Maybe some operating revenue will give you greater control over the servers and stuff…I hope you turm a significant profit too.
It’s just a classic game!
February 2, 2007 at 6:12 pm
yeah, baby!!!
Just a step on the road to playing again, but it’s a good step. No; a GREAT step.
This will tide me over for a day or two!
February 2, 2007 at 9:43 pm
Haven’t posted on this blog yet but have following all the comments and suggestions. I also am hooked on CSFBL and would pay for the game if was necessary to continue. Can’t wait for it to get back on line. My commendations to the group of fellow owners who are actively involved in helping Brian get the game up and running.
This break in the action is probably good as it is obvious that CSFBL has grown to the extent that it difficult for Brian to do everything by himself, especially holding down a full time job. This break is allowing the community to come together while forcing some long term thinking about where this game is going or will go. Plus a lot of involvement by a lot of people. All this can only strenghen the league in the long run.
Obviously I am an optimist

I am here and will be. This is a great site and if it costs a few it’s worth it. It beats all the other baseball sites out there.
February 3, 2007 at 11:33 am
I know hopes were that the server would be picked up this weekend? Any chance that will happen?
February 3, 2007 at 12:04 pm
Haven’t heard anything. The second I do, there will be a post on here.
February 3, 2007 at 1:30 pm
Got so desperate I went to FromtheStretch.com and got myself a free team to hold me over. Then I found out the season don’t start for 2 more days. Boy, when its bad, its bad all over!!!
February 3, 2007 at 3:58 pm
D Man
Sorry been out of the loop for a day.
Wanting to hear from you about those leagues.
February 3, 2007 at 5:11 pm
So presumably, if nothing happened today, nothing is going to happen tomorrow (Super Bowl Sunday). So should we shift our collective hopes to sometime next week? I know no one here might even know anything, I’m just looking for the tiniest of nuggets to ease my embarassingly itchy nerves. I need my CSFBL!
February 3, 2007 at 8:42 pm
ace, is something wrong with “the site”?
February 3, 2007 at 9:39 pm
Yeah, it’ down. With both CSFBL and SOI down… I’m going crazy. We have a backup board, though. Email me at acecubbie@hotmail.com and I’ll send you the link.
February 3, 2007 at 11:23 pm
thanks man, i’m freaking out
February 3, 2007 at 11:37 pm
oh is it super bowl sunday? oh no, its almost valentine’s day. the past 3 months that i’ve been involved nonstop with this game seem to have caused a time/ space jump. I missed x-mas and New Years. heck would’ve missed the big bowl game if the system had not have crashed. by the way this is 2007, i didnt lose a whole year playing did i?
February 4, 2007 at 3:53 am
I bet it will take at least 3 more weeks.
February 4, 2007 at 7:38 am

Bears……10
February 4, 2007 at 1:30 pm
I had resigned myself to not actually hoping for a server pickup this weekend, but some kind of update would have been nice. Just to keep those of use who are obsessively checking this blog sane.
February 4, 2007 at 2:01 pm
well, this is pretty pathetic but i have had to resort to simming an entire season of MLB 2k5 on my xbox just to get my fix. you know you are a loser when you sit there and watch (and i mean literally watch without using the controllers during the middle of the games) your team play every inning of every game on 2k5 as if was a spectator with season tix. i always thought it was boring watching others play video games but am ashamed to say it was actually quite fun to watch the computer play itself over and over again. hopefully csfbl will be back up before 2k7 comes out in the first week of march on 360
